What we may text you
- A one-time sign-in code. Only when you type your own phone number into the sign-in for your Piggy Bank (the account area of Pig Out Perks) and ask for a code. Signing in by email is the alternative, and you never have to use text.
- Updates about your order. Only if you ticked the separate order-updates box at checkout. Messages such as order confirmed, ready for pickup and out for delivery, up to 3 messages per order.
- Deals, specials and photos of specials. Only if you ticked the deals box at checkout, or signed up on the deals sign-up page and confirmed by replying YES. Both start empty and are never required.
- Piggy Bank messages. Account notices, for example that your piggy coins expire in 30 days, go to Piggy Bank holders who added a phone number and confirmed it with a code. Promotional nudges about your piggy coins go only to people who also ticked the deals box, or signed up on the deals sign-up page and confirmed by replying YES.
- A reminder about an unfinished order, with a link to pick your order up where you left off, only if you agreed to deals texts. One reminder per order in progress.
- Replies. STOP, HELP and START are answered automatically. Any other message you text us gets an automatic reply with a link to our hours and our phone number, and it is passed on to the owner, who may answer by hand.
How you agree
Texts need your yes. There are three boxes, each one starts empty, we never tick one for you, and none of them is required to order. This is the exact wording next to each.
The deals box at checkout
Send me deals from Pig Out, including late night deals. Marketing texts and emails. Message frequency varies. Consent is not a condition of any purchase. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help.
- The box starts empty. We never tick it for you.
- When you tick it, we keep a record of when you did and the exact words you agreed to.
- Agreeing to deals texts is not required to order.
The order-updates box at checkout
A second, separate box appears under the deals box once you have typed your phone number:
Text me updates about this order, like when it is ready for pickup or out for delivery. Up to 3 messages per order. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help. Not required to order.
- This box also starts empty, and it is not required to order.
- When you tick it, we keep with your order which version of this wording you agreed to.
- It covers texts about that one order only. It is not agreeing to marketing.
The deals sign-up page
On the deals sign-up page there is a box and a phone number field. This is the exact wording next to the box:
Yes, text me deals from Pig Out, including late night deals and photos of specials, at this number. By checking this box you agree to receive recurring automated marketing texts from Pig Out. Message frequency varies. Consent is not a condition of any purchase. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help.
- That box also starts empty, and it is never required for anything.
- A sign-up there is a request. Your number only counts as agreed after you reply YES to a confirmation text from us.
- We keep a record of when you asked and the exact words shown.
Sign-in codes
When you type your own phone number into the Piggy Bank sign-in and ask for a code by text, that request is your agreement to that code message. It is not agreeing to marketing: signing up for the Piggy Bank and ticking the deals box are separate.
How often
Message frequency varies. Deals, specials, photos, Piggy Bank nudges and order reminders are marketing texts, and they are never sent before 8am or after 9pm Pacific time. Order updates are sent when the kitchen changes your order, up to 3 per order. A sign-in code is sent when you ask for one.
Cost
We charge nothing for texts. Message and data rates from your phone plan may apply.
